Thank you to everyone who turned out for our grand opening at our Newport Facility on Saturday! It was a huge success with nearly 50 players in the facility at one point!

Some highlights:
- Tyler Whisman defeated Abe Reeder in the 41 point handicap tournament with a score of 47-45. Randy Burnett and Randy Hershey were the semi-finalists.
- The Enquirer stopped by to take pictures which appeared in the Sunday Northern Kentucky Enquirer section. There's a great close-up of Elizabeth Salmons and a picture of part of the club as things were getting underway.
- Door prizes of paddles, balls, cases, and slingpacks were won by a number of people.
- 8 pizzas were eaten, 48 bottles of water, and 24 bottles of Gatorade. :)
- Our new table (for those not aware, we purchased a 12th table) was unveiled.
- Our Newgy barriers took up regular residence on our court where they will be used at all practices and tournaments.
- We were able to use the club's new tournament PA system.
- At least a dozen people from the community, including several families stopped by to play. New players are always encouraged to grow the club and sport!

If you weren't able to make it to the Bluegrass Games today in Lexington, you missed George Thompson willing 1st place in Kentucky in the 60-69 age group (he was undefeated). Boz Gosto teamed with Arjun Shankaren to win 2nd place in the Open Doubles. George and I finished in 4th in Open Doubles. Boz and I both lost in the Quarterfinals of the Open Singles. Babak did a great job running the event - I encourage everyone from Kentucky to participate next year!

Please don't forget our new schedule. We're open every Saturday from 4-9 PM and every Wednesday from 6-10 PM.

See you Wednesday night!
